Theme

Based on the tragic fairytale story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, this slot features lots of tiny men digging around for golden nuggets. Of course there’s also the beautiful princess herself, complete with her crisp red apple!

Gameplay Overview & Symbols

The base game is set above-ground, just outside the entrance to the mine where the dwarfs spend their days hunting for gold and singing “Hi Ho”. Unlike the Disney classic, these dwarfs have a bit more spunk than the likes of “dopey” and “sleepy”. They are:

  • Banker
  • Blacksmith
  • Bomber
  • Huntsman
  • Racer
  • Strongman
  • Wizard

In terms of value, the Wild and Snow White offer the most bang for your buck at 60x stake for 5 on a payline. It’s a pretty high-variance game, however, so you can expect to go on lengthy droughts between major payouts!

The one downside is that, for speedy players, Dwarfs Gone Wild is a bit slow. You can’t double-click the spin button, and there’s no “fast play” option. While this is slightly frustrating, Quickspin more than makes up for it with its special features.

In addition to the blockbuster free spins round, players should keep their eyes peeled for the Magic Mirror symbol! It falls only on the 3rd reel, and if you manage to land it, 300 Snow White symbols are added to the reels. You’re given 2 respins and the very real possibility to fill the screen with Snow Whites!

Special Features

The free spins round in Dwarfs Gone Wild is activated, like most games, by landing 3 bonus symbols across reels 2, 3, and 4. But first, you’ll notice the Golden Minecart Bonus Meter to the left of the reels during base play: whenever you hit a dwarf-based winning combination, this meter fills up!

When it reaches capacity, you earn an extra “Golden Minecart”. In the free spins round, these minecarts are converted randomly to special bonuses:

  • Rolling Reels – One walking wild added to reel 3, 4, or 5. The wild moves left one place after each spin.
  • Spreading Wilds – An exploding wild appears on the reels, creating 2-4 extra wilds for bigger wins!
  • Throwback Wilds – Between 2-5 wilds appear on the reels.
  • Full Reel Wilds – 1-2 stacked wilds appear, covering entire reels.
  • Free Wild – A strategic wild is added to the reels, creating the best possible winning combination on that spin.
  • Extra Free Spins – 3, 4 or 5 extra free spins are added to your tally.
  • Win Multiplier – At least one spin will include a 2x, 3x, or 5x multiplier.

Players are awarded 7 free spins, but with any of these bonuses involved, that’s more than enough to take home a killing. We played this round with a single extra bonus and took home 50x our original stake!

Our Verdict

From top to bottom, Dwarfs Gone Wild is a quality game. The characters are fun, the gameplay feels professional, and the quality of wins can be spectacular. It’s high-variance, which won’t suit all players, but otherwise there is nothing to drive players away. You should definitely take Dwarfs Gone Wild for a spin!
